Selvadurai Loganathan, popularly known as ‘Loga’ among his colleagues and official circles, has left an indelible mark on the progress of Saumiyamoorthy Thondaman Memorial Foundation (STMF).

Although I have known him way back in 1989, we became colleagues in STMF and Loga spearheading it as Deputy Director General Finance from 2009 to 2017.

Having qualified as a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and subsequently having admitted to the fellowship, he showed sharp financial discipline and management systems to ensure STMF achieved its objectives towards the enhancement and promotion of educational, vocational, religious and cultural development of Sri Lankans.
The Thondaman Vocational Training Centre (TVTC) at Hatton, Thondaman Cultural Centre (TCC) at Ramboda, Thondaman Sports Complex (TSC) at Norwood and the 47 Praja Shakthi centres scattered among the plantation areas were successfully managed by Mr. Loganathan by which the plantation community benefitted immensely.

He was a devoted public officer who followed the governmental establishment code and financial regulations meticulously towards his task. In his career, he had worked closely with the late Saumiyamoorthy Thondaman when he was Managing Director of Veyangoda Textiles Mills.

He was a lovable person and treated his subordinates equally and showed no discrimination towards anybody whatsoever. He tutored many of his juniors and helped them rise to responsible positions in the private sector.

Although he left us, he will be remembered forever for his selfless service to the community and the nation as a whole.

May his soul be blessed by Lord Shiva!
