SLENDO 2019 Sri Lanka to host endocrinology scientific sessions

The Sri Lanka College of Endocrinologists (SLCE) together with the South Asian Federation of Endocrine Societies (SAFES) and the International Society of Endocrinology (ISE) will be hosting Sri Lanka Endocrine- “SLENDO 2019” from August 1 to 3 in Colombo.  


The Sri Lanka College of Endocrinologists (SLCE) is the epic body of the Endocrinologists in Sri Lanka. Endocrinologists are qualified to diagnose and treat disorders of the endocrine gland and hormone. Endocrinologists have the training to diagnose and treat hormone imbalances and problems by helping to restore the normal balance of hormones in the body.  
The common diseases and disorders of the endocrine system that Endocrinologists deal with include Diabetes Mellitus, bone disorders, pituitary, adrenal and Thyroid disorders.   
There are nearly 20 board certified Consultant Endocrinologists in Sri Lanka.  


The President of the SLCE is Dr. Charles Anthonypillai, Secretary is Dr. (Ms) Kamani Liyanarachchi, Treasurer is Dr. (Ms) Samanthi Coorey and Editor is Dr. (Ms). Dharshini Karuppiah. Eminent Endocrinologist, Dr. Noel Somasundaram is also the President of the South Asian Federation of Endocrine Societies (SAFES). This is one of the biggest endocrinology scientific sessions held in Asia.  


“In spite of the fact that the recent terrorist attacks and travel ban, the SLCE has ensured fullest participation with 1500 delegates, which is well beyond out target,” Dr. Samanthi Coorey said.
