Dennis my father, best friend my hero
Dennis was always there for me
Whenever I was in need.
He taught me how to swim and read
Taught me how to give
Whenever I was straying from my path
He always pulled me in.
In my turbulent times
You were a rudder to me
You also had to beat me, to make a man of me.
When I was deep in pain after surgery
You sat throughout the night with me
You held my hand, took away the pain.
I love you daddy
Your legendary exploits in medical and business fields
Are known by every body,
But I like you all to know, the time he spent with me
You shaped my life but failed in making a gentleman of me.
You climbed mountain’s with me on your back
And swam across the Mahaweli River with me.
I remember those hunting trips
And when I was small you kept rne on your lap, you used to
read to me
When you came into my house two years ago
Looking after you was the natural thing for me.
Just being next to you made my life complete.
I love you more than life itself, you mean that much
To me.
