The statues of Ven. Arahath Mahinda, Therani Sanghamitta, King Dharmasoka, King Devanampiyatissa and Minister Aritta of King Devanampiyatisa’s court - the first to enter the order of monks -- were refurbished by the officers and employees of the Wildlife Conservation Department in Anuradhapura and Mihintale. The statues had been discoloured as a result of long exposure to the elements.
