Late Prof. Ediriweera Sarachchandra’s “Bava Kadathurava” (Birth and Beyond) was initially produced by him in 1989 and the music composition was done by late Dr. W.D.Amaradeva.
After 23 years the new production was done by Mrs. Lalitha Sarachchandra, wife of the late Prof. Sarachchandra and staged in Jude Srimal’s drama festival recently.
The Sarachchandra theatre foundation received an invitation from the Hiron Kiron Theatre Foundation, Munshiganj, Bangladesh, to represent Sri Lanka in Bangladesh at the 1st Hiron Kiron International Theatre Festival 2019 that is to be held from November 10 to 14.
A troupe of 17 members will be participating in this tour including directress Mrs . Lalitha Sarachchandra.
The cast comprises Chaminda Mirihagalla, Shirani de Costa, Tharanga Kumari, Piumi Sankalya, Akalanka Welagedara, Rajitha Prabath, Saman Liyanaarachchi, Nawarathna Wijeyarathna, Mahesh Rajaguru, Kasun Krisantha, Uchitha Fernando & Indika Lakmal.The orchestra consists of senior lecturer Mr. Mahanama Wickramasinghe, Sanjaya Jayalath, Jayawathie Hettiarachchi and Hirantha Jayasinghe.
Will perform at the 1st Hiron Kiron International Theatre Festival 2019 that is to be held from Nov. 10 to 14.
