A Celebration

It was time for a celebration and Prithi celebrated her birthday in her usual great style. With all the gloom and doom we have been through and are yet going through, it was nice to go out for a couple of hours to celebrate a happy occasion. Prithi had invited her close family and good friends for this evening celebration. The chosen venue was the rooftop  at the Kingsbury Hotel. Prithi, who believes in the magic touch of Rohan Karr, Executive Director, Hayley’s PLC,  Managing Director, Hayley’s Leisure Sector, consulted him on this occasion.  A menu was curated and produced by Chef Ashan Liyanage; a scrumptious spread enjoyed  by all the guests. 

The venue was decorated beautifully with lots of heliconia and other flowers in shades of pink and white roses. The theme was bling for the ladies, most of who were dressed in lovely shades of it. 

Prithi’s eldest son Priyan, in his toast, echoed the fact that she is a wonderful mother to all her children, a mother with a melting heart. I honestly believe that.  Knowing Prithi for over four decades, I have only known her as a generous and compassionate woman who helps a lot of people in need. In usual Colombo fashion she is envied by many too.

Another great Hotelier at the party had this to say: “What an amazing night, after such a long time! My first outing in five months! I must say, you know how to throw a party! Talking from my heart, it was absolutely perfect; the food, the atmosphere, the colourful people, the cakes, the music!”

The evening was enjoyed by all and the party wound up just after midnight.
