ACES holds software programming competition

Association of Computer Engineering Students (ACES), Department of Computer Engineering, University of Peradeniya is organizing a software programming competition named “ACES Coders”. 

This is a 12-hour software coding competition is held at the University of Peradeniya, Faculty of Engineering premises on the 13th June, 6 pm to 6 am the following day.

ACES coders is a coding competition, where the competitors are given multiple problems and they are expected to solve the problems using their problem solving and programming skills. The event is open to every undergraduate in engineering and science faculties in Sri Lanka including state and private Universities. Last year, the competition was held at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya and there were 192 students from 64 teams participated from 7 different universities including Peradeniya, Moratuwa, Colombo and Jaffna. This time, ACES has targeted more universities and the expected number of students are 300 (from 100 teams). Fifteen different universities have already registered for the competition. 

Having 300 students at one place for a competition makes “ACES coders”  one of the biggest events organized for IT students and definitely the biggest coding competition in Sri Lanka. Further, there is no coding competition of this magnitude originated in Sri Lanka other than “ACES coders”. This makes the event unique among the various other competitions held in Sri Lanka throughout the year.
