PIM Alumni holds strategic business insights workshop

The Postgraduate Institute of Management Alumni Association (PIMA), University of Sri Jayewardenepura, successfully concluded ‘Learning Beyond MBA: A Special Workshop on Strategic Business Insights’ recently, at the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayewardenepura.


The one-day workshop focused on introducing the participants to a holistic approach and ensuring a deep analysis of future market trends, which need to be embedded into the business strategy of an organisation.


Special emphasis was placed on global economic and social shifts that emerge in light of technological advances that could pose new challenges for top business managers. 


The majority of the attendees were from the public and private sectors although a number of entrepreneurs also took part with the mind-set of charting a successful future for their organisations.


The topics included: Agile Future of HR: Assessing our Readiness by PIM Director Prof. Ajantha Dharmasiri, Entrepreneurial Foresights for Innovation by PIM Senior Consultant Dr. Travis Perera, Big Data Analytics: Are We in the Right Direction? by Sunshine Tea (Pvt.) Ltd CEO Ravi Edirisinghe, Research Insights: Capturing Realities for Staying Ahead by PIM Senior Consultant Dr. Gayan Jayakody, Integration by Leade Researcher-Second Curve Chairman Ravi Bamunusinghe and Summing Up for Actions by Management Consultant PIM Samantha Rathnayake.


The PIM Alumni is an association of professionals with a diverse community of associates and faculty, reflecting a world of leaders, talents and backgrounds, who have completed a master’s or doctoral degree at the PIM, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
