A worker who was employed at the copper factory owned by Insaf Ahmad, one of the suicide bombers of Shangri-La Hotel, was re-remanded till July 8 by Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage yesterday.

The TID informed court that the suspect, Karupaiya Rajendran Abdulla, had allegedly received two cheques in his name and therefore further investigations were being conducted.
The prosecution earlier said the suspect had maintained a cordial relationship with the factory owner from whom he received money from time to time.

However, counsel appearing for the suspect refuted allegations on the two cheques stating the prosecution was misleading the court as his client had not received any cheque in his name.
The magistrate directed the prosecution to file a report on the subsequent date as to whether or not there were cheques drawn in the name of the suspect.
