An employee, of the Copper Factory owned by Insaf Ahmad, one of the Shangri-la suicide bombers, was re-remanded till May 30 by Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage yesterday.

The Wellampitiya Police informed Court that the suspect identified as Karuppaiah Rajendran Abdulla, had maintained a close relationship with the factory owner and had from time to time received money from him.

Meanwhile, the Police requested the Court to permit them to obtain details of phone numbers and Bank accounts used by the nine other employees, who were arrested earlier and later granted bail leading to public concern as to how they were released on bail.  Meanwhile, the Police are reported to have erred when they filed the B reports and sought the remand order from the Magistrate. However, the Wellampitiya Police OIC had refused the claim and demanded an inquiry from the Judicial Service Commission.
