Leaders of political parties representing in Parliament yesterday decided to take up the a two-day debate on Vote on Account to Parliament on August 27 and 28 respectively.
It is expected to be presented to the House today. This VOA will be to seek the approval for the expenditure from September 1, this year.
Meanwhile, the House will debate the policy statement today.
In another development, Samagi Jana Balawegaya parliamentarian Lakshman Kiriella was appointed as the Chief Opposition Whip.
Mr. Kiriella told the Daily Mirror that he accepted this post following the request made by his parliamentary colleagues.
