The Medical Faculties will reopen on June 15 for final-year students so that they can sit their examinations, the University Grants Commission (UGC) said yesterday.
UGC Chairman Professor Sampath Amaratunge said the universities would re-opened for medical students in stages depending on the pandemic situation.
“Since we need doctors at this hour of need, we will first get the medical students into the universities.
Afterwards, we will see about reopening universities for the other students later,” He said.
