District Court of Colombo issued a stay order against Lanka Jathika Estate Workers Union (LJEWU) President Harin Fernando and Secretary Vadivel Suresh prohibiting them using LJEWU’s assets.
“The United National Party has obtained an interim order from the District Court of Colombo against LJEWU President Harin Fernando and Secretary Vadivel Suresh preventing them from utilizing the assets and finances of the union” UNP said in a statement.
Mr. Fernando has defected from the UNP and joined hands with Samagi Jana Balawegaya to contest the elections.
