UNP ‘Sirikotha Gamata’ membership drive in Horana

The result of what this government had done in the recent past is beginning to be seen, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said yesterday.   

Prime Minister said this at the launch of ‘Sirikotha Gamata’ the new membership drive of the UNP in Horana last morning.   

 

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe travelled in an open double decker to a few places during the Siri Kotha Gamata programme which was launched by the UNP yesterday. Pic by Pradeep Pathirana     


“We asked for your vote in 2015 to stabilize the country. Later we were criticized. We will never vote for the UNP again’ the people said. More than 50 percent of the people criticized us,” the Prime Minister said.   


“However, we decided to come to you once again. We thought the time is ripe to go before the people and explain what we have done as a result of what the present government did is beginning to show. You will see and hear much about what we did in the coming days,” he added.   


The Prime Minister and the UNP higher-ups including General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, National Organizer Navin Dissanayake, Chairman Kabir Hashim, Senior Vice President Lakshman Kiriella and CEO Shamil Senarath visited some places by an open double decker bus.
