Two youths who were bathing in the Walawe River in Welipatha Yaya in Kaltota last evening had drowned, the police said.
The deceased had been identified as a 22-year-old youth from Opanayake and a 20-year-old from Kotmale. They were staff of a private company in Millewa, that had visited one of their colleagues in the area and had gone to bathe in the river, police said. The remains are lying at the Balangoda Hospital Morgue for the post mortem.
