Two nineteen-year-old students drowned while bathing in the Kelani River at Ranwala in Kirindiwela on Saturday evening, police said.
They said the two students went missing when a group of students at a school in Weliweriya were bathing in the river.
Search operations were underway by the Police and the Navy with the assistance of residents as of yesterday afternoon to locate the missing students.
