Two more ministers and a state minister appointed

Two new Ministers and a State Minister were sworn in before President Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s Official Residence, yesterday.

 Accordingly, Public Administration and Disaster Management Minister Ranjith Maddumabandara also took oaths as the Minister of Rural Economic Affairs in addition to his current portfolio before President Sirisena.   


Minister of Agriculture, Rural Economic Affairs, Livestock Development, Irrigation, Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development P. Harrison was sworn in as the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock Development, Irrigation and Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development sans the portfolio of Ministry of Rural Economic Affairs held by him previously.   


In addition to the these changes in the cabinet, Parliamentarian Wasantha Senanayake was sworn in as the State Minister of Foreign Affairs, which he held before October 26, 2018, the day President Sirisena replaced the UNF government led by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe with a UPFA government led by Mahinda Rajapaksa.
