Two deportees conduct extremist lectures for SL families in UAE

Investigations revealed that the two individuals who were arrested by the Police Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) after their deportation from the United Arab Emirates UAE), had conducted lessons on extremist ideologies for Sri Lankan families residing there.  

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said that the TID arrested these two suspects from Mawanella and Gampola while indulging in promotion of extremism.   


“Data in the Laptop computers used by the perpetrators have been analysed and examined by the experts. The experts’ report has been received by the TID accordingly,” the Spokesman said.   


He said that these laptops contained various video footage and images which promote the ideology of extremism.   
The TID is conducting further investigations.
