Two Lankans reportedly injured, Embassy building slightly damaged

It was reported that two Sri Lankans have been injured after the massive explosion rocked Lebanese capital Beirut, Tuesday, Sri Lankan Embassy in Lebanon said.   

“As a result of the sudden explosion, minor damages were caused to the Sri Lankan Embassy premises in Beirut and the residences of the Embassy officials. However, they have not sustained any injury, it said.   


Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Sri Lankan Ambassador to Lebanon Shani Karunarathne said that the embassy staff are currently in touch with Sri Lankan community and the Lebanese government authorities are yet to confirm about any casualty among Sri Lankans who are working there.
