At least ten soldiers sustained injuries when the jeep they were travelling had veered off the road and toppled at Pallimulla area in Nintavur on Saturday evening.
The vehicle was travelling from Akkaraipattu in Ampara to Kalmunai area when they had met with the accident.
The injured soldiers were admitted to Nintavur Hospital, Ashroff Memorial Hospital the Ampara General Hospital and Batticaloa Teaching Hospital for medical treatment.
This accident had taken place when the soldiers had tried to avoid a herd of cattle that was moving across the road.
Ampara Police are conducting inquiries.
