A hotel owner and five women were among 10 people arrested by the police during a raid on a party organized through Facebook at Medilla in Tangalle on Saturday night.
Officers of the Tangalle Police raided a restaurant at Medilla following a tip-off that a group of individuals were organising an illegal party.
The Police seized 10.8g of ganja, several bottles of liquor and beer during the raid.
Arrested suspects aged between 17 and 40 were identified as residents of Tangalle, Eheliyagoda, Ragama, Kekirawa, Nawagamuwa, Mirigama, Matara and Giriulla.
They would be produced in the Tangalle Magistrate’s Court, according to police.
