None of the students of Ambalangoda Dharmasoka College were present yesterday, and only six students of the Kularatne Vidyalaya had attended school.
Health authorities had taken steps to place under quarantine the students of two classes in this school, when it was revealed that the parents of two students from one family were Corona infected. The two students were to be PCR tested yesterday while the other students in the two classes and their teachers were quarantined.
Meanwhile, Galle District Epidemiologist Venura K. Singarachchi said immediate steps were taken to disinfect the buildings of the two schools. Southern Province Director of Education Nimal Dissanayake and other relevant authorities met yesterday afternoon to decide on further action.
