Referring to the statement made by former Minister Vinayagamoorthy Muralitharan’s alias “Karuna Amman” that he is more dangerous than Covid-19, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam said that they vehemently condemned the statement.
“We are not in a position to take the responsibility of the statement he made as he is neither a member of the SLPP nor a member of our affiliated group,” he told a news briefing yesterday.
“He is contesting the upcoming general election against our party from another newly formed party”, he added.
He said there was a tendency for Karuna Amman to make such statements when he gets on with Ranil Wickremesinghe and Sajith Premadasa.
“However, we would like to categorically mention that Karuna Amman is not marinating any links with our party for the upcoming general election and reiterate that we highly condemn the statement,” he added.
