The Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA) said yesterday it was deeply concerned about the situation which has arisen following the allegations made against a medical professional from Teaching Hospital Kurunegala.

It said in a statement that they expected that the ongoing investigations will be conducted methodically by the relevant authorities and completed without delay.

“We urge all, especially the members of the medical profession, to refrain from making hasty and ill-considered statements until the true facts are established. Such actions could aggravate the already troubled situation in the country at present,” it said.
