SL inaugurates tech faculty at Homagama

Sri Lanka’s first-ever technology faculty, built at a cost of Rs.3 billion for Sri  Jayewardenepura University, was declared open by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday at the Pitipana  Technology Park in Homagama. 

The Prime Minister’s office said the faculty was the first and largest of its kind in Sri Lanka and had the capacity to cater to some 1,600 students. It also said the event was held under the guidelines of health authorities and with a limited number of participants. 


The special commemorative stamp and first-day cover introduced to mark the milestone were presented by Information and Communications Technology Minister Bandula Gunawardana to the Prime Minister and Sri Jayewardenepura University Chancellor Ven. Dr. Ittapane Dhammalankara Thera.
