A fundamental rights violation petition was filed on Tuesday on behalf of lawyer Hejaaz Hisbullah who is detained by the police.

Petitioner Gowry Shangary received instructions from the Hisbullah’s family, namely his Egyptian-born  wife Maram M. Khalifa and his father Neina Mohamed Mohamed Hisbullah.

She stated on or about April 14, 2020, at around 5.00 pm, five persons including a female arrived at his residence identifying themselves as CID sleuths and  proceeded to take into their custody his personal laptop and several flash drives.

They then recorded a statement from him and from his wife and Hisbullah was ordered to be present at the CID on April 15, 2020.

Shortly one of the persons received a call. They then informed him and his wife that he should accompany them to the Criminal Investigations Department.
