Re-opening of schools primary sectors to be delayed further

The re-opening of schools for primary students will take a little longer than for senior grades, an official said yesterday

The official who did not want to be quoted by name said that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had held a meeting with the relevant secretaries of the ministries regarding the resumption of economic and other normal activities of the country . He said the re-opening of schools had also been  featured in the discussions.   

He said that schools would be reopened shortly but the date would be notified later.   

“Schools will be reopened for senior students first. However the opening of the primary sections will take a little longer ” he said.    .
