Ravi appears at CID over bond scam

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday recorded a statement from former Minister Ravi Karunanayake for over 4-hours, with regard to the Central Bank bond scam, Police said.  

 

The former minister arrived at the CID at around 10 a.m after the Attorney General had instructed the acting IGP to record statements from him in connection with the 2016 CBSL bond scam.   


Earlier, the CID also recorded a statement from UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe at his residence at 05th Lane, Colpetty with regard to the Central Bank Treasury Bond Scam.  


Last month, Attorney General Dappula De Livera instructed the Acting IGP to obtain statements from four people including the former President Maithripala Sirisena and Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, former Advisor to the Prime Minister M. S. Paskaralingam and the former General Manager of People’s Bank with regard to the Central Bank Treasury Bond Scam.
