The Education Ministry decided to conduct random Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) at schools to detect Covid-19 patients among students,  Education Minister Prof. G.L Peiris said.

He said the Ministry had decided to conduct such tests on a sample of 30 students to be selected from two or three schools daily.

The RAT results will assist in arriving at decisions for the re-opening of schools and to find out the extent of COVID virus spread among school children,” the Minister said.
