A team of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials arrived at the Lanka Hospitals in Narahenpita last night to record a statement from former Minister Rajitha Senaratne.
However, the officials were yet to record a statement from MP Senaratne as the parliamentarian has been taken for a medical check-up at the time this edition went to press last night.
The hospital sources said the MP was admitted at around 7.00 in the evening over a sudden illness. '
A court order was earlier issued to arrest him over the controversial ‘white van’ press conference.
