Protesters handover occupied state buildings

All government buildings including the President’s House, President’s Office, and Prime Minister’s Office occupied by the Public Protesters (Aragalaya) were returned to the state. 


After addressing the media Swasthika Arulingam who was a representative of the Aragalaya said protesters remained peaceful at the said state buildings over the past few days occupied the properties in a peaceful manner. 

“We have decided to withdraw from these properties except the Old Parliament, and the Galle Face space, because people have gathered at the Old Parliament to send a very clear message not only to the executive, but also to the legislature,” she added.
