A private jet, which was on its way to Hong Kong, made an emergency landing at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake yesterday.
Airport Duty Manager said 11 people including two pilots were on-board.

The gulf-stream Learjet type aircraft had left for Hong Kong from the BIA at 9.42 am but returned around 12.40 pm after detecting atechnical fault in the tyre system.
The pilot had taken measures to dump the fuel in the sea before making the successful landing while the airport authorities had assembled fire-trucks and ambulances as a precautionary measure.
