President Gotabaya Rajapaksa joined the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) election campaign yesterday by attending several meetings organised by its candidates contesting from Anuradhapura.
According to the Presidential Media Division, about 14 meetings were scheduled for yesterday covering seven electorates of Kalawewa, Kekirawa, Mihintale, Horowpathana, Medawachchiya, Anuradhapura West and East. The President attended meetings organised by S.M. Chandrasena, Duminda Dissananayke, Weerasena Gamage, Weerakumara Dissananayke, Professor Channa Jayasumana and Shehan Semasinghe.
The meetings held at Thalawa, Kala Wewa, Galkulama Junction, Kahatagasdigiliya Rest House, Horowpathana and several other places were attended by many residents of the area.
