Poll Cards Tomorrow is a special delivery day: DPMG

Tomorrow is a special delivery day for polling cards for those who have not received their cards by post, Deputy Postmaster General (Operations) D.A.R.K. Ranasinghe said.   

He said the distribution of polling cards for the 2019 presidential election was continuing from October 26 and would end on November 9.  


The DPMG requested voters who had not received their polling cards to stay indoors to receive their cards and said some 8,000 personnel had been assigned to deliver the polling cards.  
He said eligible voters who do not receive their polling cards by the November 9 may check with the nearest post office giving their the residential address listed in the 2018 electoral register and obtain their cards after proving their identity.  


“The postal voting began on October 31 and will end on November 5. Those employed at divisional secretariats, election offices and the police will cast their postal votes on the November 4,” the DPMG said.  He said those unable to cast their postal votes on these dates they would be able to do so on November 7 at an election office in the vicinity of their places of employment.
