The Cinnamon Gardens Police has launched an investigation into the brawl which erupted at the Mrs. Sri Lanka pageant in Colombo on Sunday night after uncrowned Mrs. Sri Lanka Pushpika De Silva lodged a complaint against reigning Mrs. World Caroline Jurie.

Caroline Jurie had removed the crown off Pushpika De Silva who was announced as the winner of the pageant, over allegations that she was a divorcee.
Pushpika has lodged a complaint against Caroline Jurie and Chula Padmendra, who supported Jurie’s actions on stage, stating they intended to harm her by
becoming violent.

Caroline Jurie gave a statement at the Cinnamon Gardens Police last morning after she was summoned over the complaint.

Police also recorded statements from National Director of Mrs. Sri Lanka for Mrs. World pageant- Chandimal Jayasingha in addition to the statement from Caroline Jurie.
Jurie’s brother who arrived with her told the media that Jurie would hold a media briefing within the course of the day to expose the truth and would provide details of what had happened on Sunday night.

A senior police officer told Daily Mirror that the police had launched a probe into the matter and further action would be taken following the investigation.
