The body of a member of the Valikamam East Pradeshiya Sabha was recovered by the Velvetithurai Police from the sea off Mailanthanai. The victim identified as Ilanganathan Senduran (37) was a TNA member of the Pradeshiya Sabha.
He had gone missing from home since April 24, and the police were investigating a complaint in that regard received from his relatives. The PS member’s motorcycle, his identity card and the cellular phone was recovered from the cemetery by the beach.
Velvetithurai Police said the cause of death was yet to be ascertained, but said they suspected a possibility of foul play.
