The Kollupitiya Police recorded a statement from a woman attached to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) for posting an internal communique which relates to security concerns on social media.

Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara said the woman, a resident of Badulla, had photographed the internally circulated memo and posted it on social media.

He said the letter in question had been sent by a police officer to the Director Human Resources and Premises Management Division of the SLTDA about an impending security threat. The Director has then shared that letter with division heads of the SLTDA internally, informing them to be vigilant over a possible terror attack.

SP Gunasekera said the security forces and the police were looking to ascertain the validity of the security alert issued and added that the case has been handed over to the CID.
