Police asked to remain on high alert

All police stations and police personnel in Colombo have been advised to remain on high alert after it was reported that an explosive-laden van and a lorry were circulating in Colombo, sources said.  

 

In an internal memo, the Police were also advised to be on the lookout for a light blue car with the number plate: 15-0316 and white car with a number plate: CBF-1668, which were moving around in  Pugoda.  

It said these vehicles are believed to have been used for carrying out the bomb explosions and acts of sabotage and that these vehicles could contain explosives. The Police are advised to be cautious ensuring the security of the people.
