Over 59,000 vaccinated: No adverse effects reported: Dr. Herath

A total of 59,154 individuals including frontline health workers have been vaccinated by yesterday evening, Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath said.

He said 21,309 people were vaccinated yesterday alone. Dr. Herath said no severe adverse effects have been reported so far except for common problems such as fever, muscle pains and discomfort which might occur after any immunization. He said immunization drive was taking place at the main hospitals covering all the districts right now and added that there was no reason to hesitate and requested everyone to get vaccinated.
