Over 250,000 PCR tests conducted in Sri Lanka

Total recoveries surpass 3,000

Nearly 256,043 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests have been carried out in Sri Lanka, the Health Promotion Bureau (HPB) said.   

According to its statistics, the highest number of PCR tests amounting to 2,909 was carried out on August 11.  
Meanwhile, the Epidemiology Unit said the total Covid-19 positive cases in Sri Lanka stood at 3,234.  
So far, 3,005 patients had recovered and discharged from hospitals leaving behind 217 active coronavirus cases in the country as of yesterday.  


There are 56 suspected cases currently under investigation in hospitals.
