No election campaigns at places of worship

The Elections Commission (EC) said that if a presidential candidate was found to be guilty for using places of worship for his political activities, his nomination could be annulled. 

The Chairman of the EC, Mahinda Deshapriya said that using temples, churches, kovils, mosques directly or indirectly for propaganda would be strictly prohibited. He further said that it was also prohibited to actively endorse or attack  any presidential candidate during Bodhi Pooja, Catholic mass, Almsgiving, Jumm’ah prayer, Bana preaching sessions and other religious programmes in places of worship.
