An accomplice of National Tawheed Jamaat (NTJ) leader Zahran Hashim was arrested on Sunday at Rambewa in Medawachchiya, police said. Identified as Abdul Latif Mohamed Sathy, the 46-year-old electrician had allegedly been involved in the affairs of the group from its inception in Kattankudy.

He was arrested by the STF in Mihintale on information received by a police officer.

The suspect is currently employed as an electrician in a Chinese firm that handles a construction project in Colombo.

It was revealed that he had returned to Rambewa to visit his wife and children following the Easter Sunday bombings.
The suspect will be produced before the Anuradhapura Magistrate after interrogation.
