The National Peoples Power (NPP) yesterday urged the government to reveal its stance on the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement, the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), the Trincolmalee oil tanks, the Colombo Port’s Eastern Terminal and the Mattala Airport before the general election.

Excise Commissioner General Ariyadasa Bodaragama has ordered all bars, wine stores, taverns, restaurants and other places to refrain from selling alcoholic beverages during the said period. Departmental Spokesman Deputy Director Kapila Kumarasinghe told the Daily Mirror, strict action will be taken against those who violate these orders.
