Muzammil is new Western Province Governor

A.J.M. Muzammil was sworn in as the new Governor of the Western Province by President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday.  

This post fell vacant following the resignation of former governor Azath Salley.   

Mr. Muzammil is the current chairman of the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) and served as the Mayor of Colombo and Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to Malaysia.
