Following information on foreign nationals engaged in Islamic religious teaching without a valid visa, the Home Affairs Ministry has instructed the immigration authorities to deport such individuals forthwith, Daily Mirror learns.

In the wake of serial bombings that claimed the lives of more than 250 individuals on Easter Sunday, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe held talks with Home Affairs Minister Vajira Abeywardena and Muslim Religious Affairs Minister M.H.A. Haleem.

They discussed the need to have a proper policy on foreign nationals arriving in the country to teach Islam.
It is learnt that a large number of such foreign nationals are in the country preaching or teaching Islam in Muslim schools.
