Mangala says President’s reply avoids important constitutional questions

Former Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera in a twitter post replying to President’s Secretary P. B. Jayasundara said it had avoided the important constitutional questions raised in his letter.   

“Secy PB responds to my letter to HE in ‘koheda yanne - Malle pol’ style avoiding the important constitutional questions raised,” he tweeted.   


He also said “Again, I say article 150 (3) does not give a blank cheque to the President. He can only allocate money for three months from the “date on which the new Parliament is summoned to meet”.
