The Colombo Lotus Tower project would be declared opened for the public after clearing all the issues, as a more productive investment of higher quality, the President’s Media Division said.

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at a meeting held with the officials of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) and the Lotus Tower Project yesterday said both local and foreign businessmen should be made aware of the investment opportunities available at the Lotus Tower project.

The PMD said the President has instructed the officials that opportunity should be made available to investors to invest in restaurants, retail shops, leisure activities and other areas. He also said the opportunity should be made available to invest in traditional crafts at the premises.

“The common public of the country should be given the opportunity to visit the tower and enjoy it just as foreign tourists,” he said. A lengthy discussion took place over the issues the project faced over the years up to now.
President’s Secretary Dr. P. B. Jayasundare, President’s Senior Advisor Lalith Weeratunga, Defence Secretary Kamal Gunaratne, TRC Director General Osanda Senanayake, Chief Advisor of the Project, Major General Prasad Samarasinghe and others were present at the meeting.
