Kanjipani Imran’s accomplice ‘Pichche Faiz’ arrested

Mohammed Farooq Mohamed Faiz alias ‘Pichche Faiz’, a close associate of the underworld figure Kanjipani Imran, had been arrested by the Maligawatta Police yesterday.  

Police said the 45-year-old suspect has been charged with a number of crimes, including a murder in 2001.  
Police also recovered 1,180 miligrammes of heroin from the suspect’s possession at the time of his arrest.   Investigations have revealed that the suspect had been involved in a number of crimes led by Kanjipani Imran.  
Maligawatta Police said it was Pichche Faiz who took a mobile phone to the Boossa Prison recently, to be handed over to Kanjipani.  


Police arrested a suspect who is the son of drug trafficker know as ‘Kudu Ruwan’ at Dematagoda yesterday.   The suspect was arrested for driving a luxury vehicle without a licence plate. Kudu Ruwan is an accomplice of underworld figure Chaminda Jayanath alias Dematagoda Chaminda.   Bambalapitiya Police have arrested three suspects with over 490 grammes of Ice at Bambalapitiya and Keselwatta. Initially the Police arrested a suspect with 31 grammes of Ice at Bambalapitiya while the other two suspects were arrested with 458.4 grammes of Ice after questioning of the first suspect.   Eight accomplices of underworld gang leader ‘Kimbula Ele Guna’ and his brother, identified as ‘Suresh’ had been arrested with 70 grammes of heroin during raids by the Sapugaskanda Police.  


It was reported that underworld figure ‘Kimbula Ele Guna’ is involved in drug trafficking overseas.
