Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said India is Sri Lanka’s closest friend and therefore any issue can be resolved through discussion and mutual understanding.
The Prime Minister told Daily Mirror that even a bigger problem than the one triggered over the East Container Terminal (ECT) could be addressed through discussion with each other.
“India is our closest friend. We can resolve any dispute with them after talking with each other,” he said.
He made these remarks in response to a query about the spate after Sri Lanka decided not to partner with India or any other country for the development of the ECT.
