When the wife came with her Kuwaiti employer and his driver, the husband had run amok and assaulted them and set fire to the house. The husband’s father, who was a paralyzed patient occupying that house, sustained burn injuries and died.
A 40-year-old woman of Welipothayaya in Batticaloa who had been employed in Kuwait as a housemaid had returned to the country a couple of days ago with her employer and his driver. Her husband who ran riot had assaulted her and the two visitors and set fire to the house.
The 80-year-old Kuwaiti and his driver who received injuries were admitted to Bibila Base Hospital.
Bibila Acting Magistrate Sarath Bandara held the preliminary magisterial inquiry. The postmortem examination was to be held at Monaragala General Hospital yesterday.
Bibila police are conducting further investigations on the instructions of SP S.P.K.Gallage.
